During the 1960's, everybody was talking about the Motown Sound. This documentary consists of interviews, footage, and live performances from the mostly unsung group who were largely responsible for that sound, The Funk Brothers. This group of musicians played on more hit records than any other group ever, and yet, separately, remained unknown. In this documentary, they come back together for the first time in 41 years to talk about their lives and perform twelve new songs backing up contemporary musicians such as Ben Harper and Meshell Ndegeocello. The documentary also includes commentary from celebrities such as Chaka Khan, Joe Hunter and Bootsy Collins.
